Last week I changed my meta-description and have dropped a couple of rankings for most keywords. Should I change it back or wait? earn by blogging adsense income

So almost all of the competitors above me have very keyword rich meta descriptions, mine had one or two and was much more readable and enticing aiming for a higher CTR. But I thought I'd try an alternative one similar to competitors and see the reaction as maybe meta-descriptions don't impact CTR in my industry. How long should I wait until I truly know the impact of the change? Thanks!
