This is going to be super short and to the point...My current company doubled our revenue from last month to nearly 30k this month after continuing to optimize our marketing channels. I only mention that so you guys take this simple post seriously. Are you ready for the most basic online marketing guide?
Step 1: Identify your target market! There is good traffic and and "cheap traffic" that simply isn't going to convert. Identify the persona of your target market. Don't skip this step. I've skipped it before and I always come back to the question of who is actually going to use my product/service?
Step 2: Where does your target market go? (On the internet) These are your marketing channels. When you find a good marketing channel, it will feel like you won the lottery. With online advertising, good marketing channels literally take traffic from one place, and drive it to your website! This can be paid traffic or unpaid, it can be a forum, Facebook, Google, classified ads, anything you can think of! There are thousands of different channels being used and thousands more that are undiscovered goldmines.
Step 3: Test a marketing channel! Think you found a place where your target market goes? Test different ways to get them to your site to convert. This could be through paid advertising, or guerilla marketing tactics which are low cost or free. Creative marketers will figure some of the most effective marketing channels that cost virtually nothing but can make a ton of money.
Step 4: Strategize. Don't through darts at a board and just hope something sticks. The first 3 steps should allow you to build some sort of framework to brainstorm on. Look at the most visited sites on the internet and figure out how to get your target customer to your site from those sources. Build some marketing strategies to test and whatever works, double down on it and make it better.

I'm running an eccomerce store but I was wondering what you guys do to keep shipping issues and costs down to a minimum? I have ended up having my products flown plus delivered straight to my door because it avoids most, not all, of the delays that seem to always happen with the ports. I live 10 mins from the port of Oakland and I figured that would make my life easier but it hasn't at all. Delays after delays and fees on top.

I'm quite new to SEO, I've been learning about it and actually am about to land my first SEO internship. But I've been just curious about the competitiveness of the field...is SEO an actual field where there is low demand, high supply or the other way around where there's low supply, high demand? So I got a Shopify store that sells fashion accessories. I started in July and I’ve profited $500 a month since then. I’ve been using influencer marketing. The thing is. I feel like I can’t scale my store and make more than $500. Was thinking about opening up a different store and use the same strategy with a different niche and get $500 a month. I'm looking to start a Web to Print business and I've run into a problem regarding shipping. I will be shipping printed canvases with a maximum size of around 40x60 inches to customers, but with all the quotes that I've done online, they all end up being $200 plus. Which carrier or solution should I be using to get the best rates?
I'm literally out of time to do the cold calling so I'm toying with the idea of using a commissioned employee to do the cold calling several, to five days a weeks for me.
My thoughts were to pay strictly commission: they earn a set amount for each appointment set and a percentage of the total monthly fee that I would charge the customer if we are able to get the contract.
No one in my circle has any experience with using commission employees to do a job like this, so fellow hustlers can I get your input please?

I am just in the very beginning weeks into launching my own T-Shirt Company. I have the designed, labels, business management, and finances all locked down. However, I am running into an issue. I am having trouble finding a T-Shirt Manufacturer that allows both small quality orders, offer drop shipping, and doesn't cost $34.99 for a single L Shirt.
So, what I am asking? Does anyone know of a company that offers low quantity orders that also drop ship at responsible prices. I don't expect a deal like $2 for a Large Shirt + Logo/Design to be drop shipped for free. I just want a website that offers a great valve. Installing Wordpress Multisite on my company's website. It will be used by our customers for their personal blogs. These blogs will be similar in content to our website. Should I setup Multisite to use subdomains or subdirectories?
I've read that subdomains are basically seen by Google as independent websites and don't have much, if any, effect on SEO for the main site. However I've also read that subdirectories can help (or hurt) SEO if topic of blogs are of similar nature.

Another OP reminded me of a seminar panel I listened to many years ago. A group of millionaires and serial entrepreneurs were asked how many businesses they had failed before hitting it big.
The average was seven. This was very sobering and empowering. I am nowhere a millionaire and I am over seven failed startups (way over). Even though I have successfully exited two companies, it isn't until now I am confident my businesses can be sustainable long term. I have had even a multimillion dollar failure and still have much to learn.

I have had an idea for a company that has been going around in my head for about six months now. There's only one way to find out if the idea is viable so I have decided to make the first steps. The first thing I need to do is conduct research to get an idea of the market. The product will primarily be for industrial use so I want to contact companies to conduct a survey on certain issues they have and techniques they use to solve these issues.
I am looking for advice on how to best approach companies for information. How will companies react to a random person just phoning them asking for this information? Would it be better to visit in person without warning, or send them an email? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Okay so after reading up a bit on various forums and having tried amazon affiliates for a little while lm deciding to try and focus on one thing. Basically, I want to get into affiliate marketing but through an email list. Not sure if it’s a crazy idea to do it without a website or not. So my goal is to hopefully build a targeted email list and then use that to promote any affiliate products/services. So I’ve had a couple different niches and techniques and was wondering if I could get any pointers or advice on any of the methods I will try.
Freebie method. Basically what I want to do is create a free product related to my niche and then promote that in a squeeze page. The way I want to promote my product would be through Facebook groups. To anyone who tried this method to build your list, what challenges did you run into?
Solo ads. Now this is the one I’m leaning more towards, I know it costs money but I’m willing to spend some to see how it goes. I’m a complete newbie about this so this question might sound very retarded, reason I’m asking is because I can’t really find an answer to it. “Are solo ads really targeted?” I’ve seen people selling on Facebook group with testimonials but how exactly do I know what niche they are in? For example I want to target people from London in England. Is it possible to get that traffic from solo ads? Hi, Recently i've began to code an app with a friend of mine. We are quite confident about the concept, and we've involved another friend of ours, that's pretty strong about a lot of subjects, and especially about sys admin. We're pretty sure that he'll be a real plus to the project, but he's asking a strong 33% of the thing. He doesn't develop at all, and will only be effective to manage the servers. The fact that we don't know a shit about sys admin put us in doubt, but we really don't know what to do. What do you guys think ?

I am writing a piece of software that involves automatic backlink generation, and solely white-hat non-spammy variants. I came across a "wish list" of a poster on GSA SER's forum for something that would automatically build the following list of backlinks. I wonder what people think about these different categories of backlink building. How do I find link lists, if I wanted to build a tool myself, to sites that would take backlinks in these categories? Does the tool have to be configured for each site once (i.e. setting up a user account and giving the backlink tool the account info, the tool doing this automatically for all sites it can)? As I understand GSA SER, it is just posting the backlink as a guest and using Captcha-solvers to do it automatically (I get that GSA SER is a pretty sophisticated tool and I don't fully understand its range). I tried typing 'site: mysite.com "keyword phrase" ' , and the pages that are appearing on the serps for this query are my site's pages which aren't that optimized for SEO, instead of the landing page that i want. however, when trying 'site: mysite.com "keyword phrase 2" ' (slight variation of the original phrase), the ACTUAL page that i want to rank appears as no.1 .
the funny thing is, when typing "keyword phrase" into google, the actual page that i want to rank appears on page 3, while the other pages that appear for 'site: mysite.com "keyword phrase" ' do not appear at all. at this point i am very confused and am unsure of what to do. any insights would be greatly appreciate. thanks
I've reached the stage where I need to set-up an ad account for my own business in the FB Business Manager. The 2 best payment options are a credit card and PayPal. Should I set up a PayPal personal/business account to pay for these ads through my company card or is it easier to just get a credit card?
Based on what I heard I'm not a fan of credit cards (easy to get in debt) and I'm not sure if it's good to use when just starting out. On the other hand, PayPal is also very likely to eventually screw you over so I'm torn between them.

I am webmaster for a small online company(it's a weekly subscription like service for food), we have a few customers who shop with us regularly whose credit card companies routinely flag our charges as fraud. It only happens with a handful of people so it's not systemic. We use a hosted form with our credit card processor so we never have to touch the credit card number or information.
My question is, is there a way to find out why our charges are being flagged as fraud, from a business point of view?
We have one customer who this happens with frequently, they've had issues with their charges being denied regularly and they have to call their cc company to straighten it out, which they always do.
One other interesting bit of info that was passed along to us from another customer this is happening to is the cc company told them that our business is located in an "area" (physical) known for fraud which is what caused that particular instance. Has anyone ever heard of something like this? Or was the cc company rep blowing smoke?

Gutted to be selling my recently made shopify store. I created this store because it was modern, trendy and i knew i would make sales
It is a dropshipping store, connected to aliexpress and oberlo. This ensures you dont even have to have the inventory on you! This is very ideal as a new seller.
Revenue in only a MONTH is around $185 (converted from £££)
I paid $50 for the business logo
I also have an instagram account linked to this business. It has around 1000 followers and averages 30 likes for normal posts and 100+ likes for advertised posts. I can include this account for an extra $50
Traffic comes from facebook ads.
Prices are marked from 50% to 300%. You can use Oberlo to see where the products are sourced fro m and change prices accordingly
Also purchased a shopify domain for $14/year. This makes the store even better!
Looking to sell this store because I am still in school and do not have time to run it. This store would be ideal for anything with time on their hands, and who have the drive to build and expand this store, which has HUGE potential.

For the last 18-24 months our website can't seem to get over $10,000/mo consistently. Nov/Dec we do 20-30k but then by Feb it dips and then March through October we do $5-9k in sales.
Anyone else have a lifestyle brand that struggles to hit that next tier of 20-25k/month? What advice do you have? We can't get anywhere near our Amazon sales.
We currently do the following for marketing
-Weekly blog posts -New videos every few weeks -PPC/Retargetting, FB Ads, Instagram -17,000 person email list with automations

Hi, in China baby milk powder from Germany is so popular, that chinese tourists buy whole stores in Germany empty. Today in the newspaper was an article about a gang who stole baby milk powder in german supermarkets to sell it in China for a huge profit (!). So maybe if I can find a legit partner from China I can send him the milk powder directly from Germany in huge charges so he can sell it in China online and offline.

Like many of you, I build a lot of different products and usually follow a pretty standard process when doing so. One part of that process is marketing/promotion (something I'm terrible at doing and find it saps a lot of my energy and time).

I‘m currently working for a website which specializes in Pharma packaging. Their website is in bare need of a complete overhaul. No responsive design, confusing structure, shitty backlinks...you name it. The client itself wants to do SEO but was pretty overwhelmed after my presentation about what to do and where to improve, saying that he neither has the time nor the money to make all the changes happen. Of course I understand his pressure points and that he didn’t know how bad his site really was. Since the technical problems can‘t really be implemented by him...there’s only the content left which he‘s able to work on. What would you advise him? P.s. Of course he expects an 20% increase in traffic soon...I told him we would never make such dubious assessments.

Exactly as the title states. My boss has a 10acre plot fenced in for cows/horses etc.(none there) and a 10,000 sq/ft warehouse with a 1500sq/ft home built inside. he wants cash flow to expand his business. zillow estimates it at $409Kish he wants to sell it to me for $400K and pay me rent of $2000 a month to use the warehouse. Also the current tenants will pay $1500/mo until they move out so about 6 months to a year. taxes with ag exemption is a little over $5K a year and utilities are only about $250 a month. I have no one else to ask for advice no one (ANY ADVICE IS HELPFUL) tho i am in a special situation where i could ask my very wealthy family to help (they offered to buy me a house yet are very weird about it. but if this sounds like a bad idea why? that way i know to not even ask family. any thing else u need to know about it please just ask
Also, he wants to build another 10,000 sq/ft warehouse next year, he will pay for it but no more rent since he's paying for it. Or i could pay for it and get another $2500 a month. And he also plans on it going another 10+ years. He also has a warehouse and lives down the street. i would ask my family for $500K to buy and build both with the idea of paying most back unless they tell me i don't have to at $2000/mo until the second warehouse is built then $4000/mo for 10 years. and would i start an llc to rent it out or a sole proprietorship? ill ask legal when i have a better idea of this whole thing from u guys.
also are there tax benefits to having it as a business? i also only make $2K a month if that is anything. I've known the guy for 5 years and he has been good to me my family, his family, his employees, neighbors. All around great guy, has no kids and wants to leave the business to the employees. 6 employees- a little over $400K a year in profit around $2.5mil in sales. if that helps answer any questions. please if there are things i need to do or ask or check into with the building, land, (has been rented to 3 people in 7 years). let me know. Hello fellow redditers, my name is Dan or "The Junkler", and I'm here to share a business lesson that I feel a good majority of all you "wantrepreneurs" could benefit from. This will be a longer post, so sit back, grab your popcorn, and I hope you all enjoy. We begin with a personal story,
I am currently the owner and writer of a fairly successful blog with over 60k unique views a month, I will not share the identity of the blog because that adds no value to the story. I have been running my own blog for just over a year now, and close friends and family have begun to take notice, in particular, one of my best friends. We will call this friend "Buddy" in order to keep his/her identity anonymous because again, his/her identity doesn't matter. Our story takes place 2 years ago.
So Buddy loved the idea of starting his own business, it was his dream. He would have the best nights sleep when he was dreaming of his successful business, being able to support himself by doing what he loved, it was his life's goal. Buddy is not a super technical individual, nor does he have dreams to make it into the sales/content world. He just wants to start a local handyman company.
His vision, for a company, is to have customers who have problems with... well, with anything, call him and request service. His idea is to literally be a "jack of all trades", being able to assist customers with hanging and mounting TV's to working on irrigation leaks in the yard. Since I am the only person Buddy knows that is making a living from being an entrepreneur, he came to me for business advice.
Buddy wasn't looking for a "magic" formula, but simply asking basic questions like, "How do business taxes work?" and "What are the legalities and laws of running your own company?". I would answer all his questions the best that I could, granted I'm no expert, and he seemed ready to work! We did not talk for a few weeks after that conversation, and I was excited to see Buddy's progress. We finally reached each other and I was ready to talk business! Buddy did not seem at all interested in talking about business until I would ask questions directly about them. My first question was, "How is your company going?", very basic question. He replied with, "Oh, I can't start my business now because..." I immediately knew where this conversation was going, I was about to sit there and listen to a close friend of mine tell me every excuse he could tell himself was true about why he couldn't achieve his goals.
I was right, Buddy went on and on. Excuse after excuse. "I can't because of...", "I would but...". I am not the type of person to sit back and accept peoples BS excuses, especially when they are close to me! I delved into each one of his excuses, trying to find solutions instead of more "buts", but it didn't seem to be working. Buddy was stuck in his ways and his ways were law. I couldn't sit there and try to help the un-helpable, so I wished him the best of luck with his idea, and that was the end of our talk.
Almost a year had past, I had grown my blog from a $28,000 a year company to a $36,000. It was not a lot of money, but I was doing what I loved and paying the bills doing so. I remember it was a slow day and I had hopped into a chat room many of my close friends used. Buddy, and a few others were in the chat room. We talked and laughed and discussed our personal lives and it was a great time, but after a little while Buddy asked my to join him in an empty chat room.
I joined and asked him if everything was okay, he said it was, but he wanted to talk about business. I said okay and Buddy began by telling me, "Well... I failed at making my dream come true.." I was confused by the statement, so he elaborated. He told me he could never get over the starting obstacles, he could never get enough cash to start his company, and overall he was disappointed in himself. Buddy was so over-encumbered by his personal excuses and disbelief in himself, that he allowed himself to be the biggest obstacle to achieving his dreams. I didn't pick his brain, I didn't tell him "I told you so", I simply and sternly said this,
"The moment you use an excuse to halt the growth of your "dreams", you lose."
Buddy was silent for a good minute or two, then he finally said this, "You're right, I am the only one to blame for my failures." Buddy had finally come to terms with the truth. After that, we talked about how we could better his business and actually get this idea off the ground. There were no more "buts" or "can'ts", Buddy was finally on the right track. A few weeks after that talk Buddy had worked his first job, he picked up a new couch for his customer, delivered it to his customers home, and built it for them. He received $50 for that job, but it was enough for him to realize how easy it is to earn money if you just put in the work.
Buddy's company slowly turned into a $400/m business, into a $9.5k/m business! A few weeks ago he was able to hire his second employee and he is on his way to making his dreams a reality. All he had to do was STOP GIVING YOURSELF EXCUSES!
We all have reasons why we can't, we do. But it's those of use that push through the BS that make it in this world! This doesn't even directly relate to entrepreneurs, this is a general life lesson.
So, the morale of this post is, don't try to justify to me or anyone else why your BS excuses are preventing you from achieving your dreams. There is always a way around!!! Go out and work.
