A question about rolls of coins that are missing a coin. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
Quick backstory - I work at a grocery store, and I break the cashiers big bills into coins and small bills.
We discovered that some rolls of toonies are missing a toonie. In fact, this is happening quite often.
The rolls of coins come from the bank. Is there any way to get this money back? Twoonies particularly accumulate quickly. I'm sure we've lost 50 dollars in the last 6 months.

How do I start? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
I don't want this to just be an idea that will bounce around in my head for the rest of my life. I want to make this a reality, I don't want to be on my deathbed wondering why I never did it. I want to become an Entrepreneur. My first business I want to build is an Entertainment studio and I want to be there from the start. Besides that I have so many other business I want to create but they will all costs thousands to maybe even millions of dollars to start/operate.
So I guess the biggest question I need to ask is...
How do I get funding without going bankrupt?
My biggest concern is say for example I get a bank loan, that will only be a fraction of the cost to even open the business let alone pay employees. I know the risk is part of the rush but I just want to minimize risks as much as possible. Also is there any way I could start without any money?
P.S. Any other tips and advice would be appreciated.

My product should arrive in the next month or so and we would like to generate some drive to our site as we would love to move more product online as opposed to wholesale accounts.
That being said, the initial plan is to launch the web store in two weeks with a pre-sale window. I was planning on offering a 20% off and free shipping coupon code through this initial launch window. I was also thinking of running some promo give away instagram promotions where we request sharing and tagging our item to win a free one.
Where I need help is in how to best get this information out there? I would love some feedback on what would be the most effective way to spend wisely to generate traffic.

Hi Guys--I wanted to share for an example for why it's important to push past the negativity on reddit sometimes and just do things.
I posted this two days ago to try and get testing for a web app I started writing frenetically three days ago to help the information problem of connecting civilian rescuers and geolocation information of those needing rescue. Look at the negativity we received.
Our app did not end up succeeding, but a very similar hastily put together web app http://ift.tt/2wS3kpW on the other hand did succeed, and thank goodness they did--because they saved 7500 lives.
Here is their story: We created houstonharveyrescue.com in under 3 hours, in a leaky office, with intermittent power, a 2 GB server and had absolutely no idea it would lead to over 7,600 active rescues in thanks to over 8,000 brave rescuers, dispatchers, and volunteers. Thank you to everyone in involved in this process: our rescuers, our dispatchers, our volunteers, the Cajun Navy, the Yeehaw Navy, the Texas Navy, and the countless people driving hundreds of miles across the country to come aid in rescue efforts.
Please take this as a lesson for all of you entrepreneurs out there, especially in times of crisis--don't let the negativity of a few commenters stop you from getting out there and making a difference.

Day 2: Calling yellowpages businesses that don't have websites
I have a mini-script now (only the introduction). It's at the bottom of this post. Each call summary starts with their response since I say the same thing at the beginning of each one.

-i just don't have the budget right now, if I got more businesses I would invest in a site, i tried to get a website done before but the cheapest they quoted was 800
-something about websites being an online business card and how you might not have much money now but having a professional website will grow your business and be a great investment for the future (all these sales books taught me to not give up until they REALLY say no)

So they're gold mines that are very hard to reach)

number on yelp ON THE FIRST PAGE OF SEARCH RESULTS FOR THAT CATEGORY, was a random person. Had no idea what that was. Some businesses would kill to be in the first 10 results in their category, it's crazy. I feel the same about shitty websites on the first page of search results on google. Look up city + small business and youll see what I mean.
Call 16:

number i called was on the same street but an entirely different company (stuff like this you really just got sift through, nothing to do about it other than making sure its not your mistake)
Lessons learned:

Don't say um or uh. Be confident. Strategic pauses only make you sound more confident.

Stop yelling, you don't have to be too enthusiastic, be chill.

Things to do:
- Make common objection scripts (and yes you do need a script- Jordan Belfort in Straight Line Persuasion and Chet Holmes in the Ultimate Sales Machine stress the importance of scripts to ensure you're saying the best things possible to get the sale, otherwise you're leaving the sale up to chance. Of course it's important to sound natural, but you can sound natural and still know what you're going to say. It's just a skill you have to work on)

Make more calls- I'll go for 20 tomorrow (went from 5 to 10 so far)

Pick better businesses to call- go for "Dream 100 clients" as Chet Holmes says. Clients that are perfect fits for your business that you relentlessly pursue. *Be a sniper instead of a bird hunter.

What is a good business start-up to test the waters of being a entrepreneur? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
I just graduated University with a B.S in math and computational sciences this summer. However I never applied to any jobs as of yet since I am still undecided as to where I want to focus my abilities. As result, I am now living with my parents until I sort things out. I have been daydreaming a lot lately about the entrepreneur lifestyle, so I really want to try starting a small business and see if I have what it takes.
I currently have 15k in savings, a car and a 9-5 job working with my parents who 100% support my ambition for starting a business (been working for them throughout college as well). My mother owns a indistrial distribution company while my dad is a independent general contractor, so I have an extensive amount of knowledge in those areas as well. My parents have also offered to invest a lot into the business if it takes off.
I've actually been wanting to start a business for awhile and in result have an abundance of business ideas, but I am getting cold feet about jumping into something i've never personally run by myself before. I never thought it would happen, but I finally launched my first Amazon product today! entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
It was a long process of getting it ready to sell, but I can't tell you how happy I am and I haven't even sold anything yet!
I'm doing FBA so I don't have to worry about shipping them out. I used JungleScout tool for the research, Alibaba to find my suppliers, and Shapiro for my overseas shipping.
I'm really hoping they sell, I have to really put some sweat equity into my marketing which I think I'm horrible at. Though I wasn't very great at anything else before I started!

Working on a cross-platform podcast app, I need feedback on my landing page and the name of the app entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
Do you like podcasts? Ever wanted to listen to your favorite podcasts on any device without ever losing progress? Apple, Google, etc. are making tougher and tougher to have all your podcasts on all your devices. Apple wants to keep it all on iOS. Google is making some good progress but what we are working on is different.
We are working on a true cross-platform alternative to the big guys. A solid desktop and mobile app that will keep you updated with your favorite shows.
We will soon launch our first beta but first we need some advice about our landing page and our app name. Polycast.
I personally thought it was a good name because it reminds of broadcasting, and poly is a prefix meaning "a blend of", "many".

Make us all go viral on all Twitter. #RedditViral entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
Good evening everyone,
I've found it very difficult to sleep tonight and after hours of reading through things I've searched for, and eventually naturally stumbling across certain subjects on Reddit I had a bit of a 💡 idea.
A couple of bullet points before I share the actual idea: This may not work but here goes...
1:) The amount of posts online about people gaining more twitter followers - whether it be fake followers or real followers, people/businesses strive to have a big follow count that in turn creates natural engagement on the content they post.
2:) a few years back an extremely successful entrepreneur named Duncan Bannatyne (@DuncanBannatyne) setup a game of sorts with his Twitter followers with the hashtag #Duncansdream Which basically consisted of everyone who uses that hashtag would follow each other. This then creates engagement and extra followers for normal people, as well as real excitement.This however quickly ended as a 'fad' once people gained a couple of hundred new followers due to the amount of people who were exposed to the # at the time.
3:) As most of you are probably aware, r/millionairemakers is a sub reddit that was dreamed up by someone in r/showerthoughts to each subscriber donate $1 to 1 random winner each time in the hope it makes someone a millionaire. A superb idea but unfortunately the mods have had issues lately with the system and have struggled to keep to the latest draws. Fraud issues, etc.
Now for the 💡...
If we used all the above concepts to somehow build a "reddit twitter network" that enables everyone to gain followers and possible engagement once we all become "Twiends"
We would all effectively be Twitter r/MillionaireMakers winners. 😀
Here's how I suggest we do this to all gain as a network:
The people who want to help make this gain traction should only reply to this thread with your Twitter Handle LINK.
Also upvote this post once you've followed me. This is important to try make the front page of Reddit.
I would also suggest you add a pinned tweet to your Twitter profile with just the hashtag. #RedditViral (I'll explain shortly)
Then I and the rest of the people will then upvote your reply once we have followed you followed. And so on and so forth... In order for this to work we must instil some trust in our fellow man/woman - please follow people back guys.
We would then take this one step further and RT and LIKE everyone's tweet we have followed with #RedditViral (I suggested you simply tweet the hashtag as a pinned tweet in order to make it simple for everyone) - #RedditViral
That's it!
I know people will probably find a way to exploit this as soon as it starts to gain traction (if it ever does) but even if we just make it so our hashtag goes viral. Or even if we all gain some new twitter friends through the whole process.
That would be something gained wouldn't it?!

I have an ecommerce site that is almost finished, and writing relevant and SEO-friendly blog posts is my biggest hurdle right now. For argument's sake, let's say my ecommerce site sells 'indoor tennis shoes'.
I've already detailed:
- my niche
- my positioning
- my demographics
- psychographic segmentation
- long-tail keywords
I'm very confused on what topics I should be writing about in my blog posts.
Should my blog posts be about: Tennis, Indoor tennis, tennis shoes, indoor tennis shoes, or all/none of the above?
Another concern I have is keyword cannibalization. I want my 'purple indoor tennis shoes' product page to rank higher than my 'purple indoor tennis shoes' blog post(s).

Hey everyone, saw a few threads on forums of people posting their daily numbers- for example one guy set a goal to call 1000 people and documented it all. Myself, I started a web development business and sales is by far my weakest area. So I'm going to do something similar. Hopefully you can join my journey as I get my business off the ground.
Call 1:
Driveway sealing
-saw one of your driver's drive by, looked up you online, no website, wondering if you wanted to talk about that
-Talk about what (probably need a script lol)
-Well since you don't have a website I was thinking we could arrange a time in a few days to see if that's something you would be interested in (definitely need a script)
-Well I have your number I'll phone you
-Well do you want to arrange a time, like day tomorrow at 10am (think I did well here, you need to arrange a specific time. If they say they'll call you they won't )
-Something about how he's not in the area
-I say it's fine we don't have to meet in person
-Ok I have your number I'll call you
-Ok... (Didn't know what to say)
Call 2:
roofing
-Ok this is roofing season now so we're very busy but call me in November and we can talk about this
-Ok.. (didn't have a good answer- after making a general script I'll add good answers to common objections like "we might need your services but not at the moment")

-Ok I'll email her but if you could also pass along this info I like how you guys have a all the information a customer could possibly need, but I know your customers are very visual so im thinking we could make some changes that would make your customers like and trust you more. Password security and sufficient permissions are important, but can be a hassle. Luckily there's password managers to handle the former. The latter is largely dependent on your circumstances.

So my current following isn't really targeted for my new niche so I kinda consider this starting from zero. (This can work for anything really)
So here's the plan.
1) build site enough to show off idea
2) share to bloggers/influences group on fb in my niche offering a free sample for a review
*im here now - fantastic initial response to the idea, lots of messages people seem excited.
3) get product to influencers, in mean time post back to group to try and sign up some affiliates.
4) 1 week out from launch blast my email lists and social (even though not targeted, I'll get some support from my network)
5) day of launch, get bloggers to do their posts, I do email blast, social blast and will put a little into fb ads.
Hopefully over this time the new social accounts can gain some following so as not to be at zero. Anyway thoughts? Any other ideas?

I thought that's an amazing idea, and I want to do some writing for people rather than always writing and keeping it to myself, so I made a subreddit called /r/freecopy (since /r/freewriting was taken) for this.

Big 4 consultant, just launched a clothing line - (Month 2 update) entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
Month 2 of my store [plainteeco](www.plainteeco.com) being open original post here and man it has been a crazy ride. This month I’ve done around $3,000 in sales for a total of a little over $5,000 for my first 2 months so I’m happy to see some small growth. This process has been a huge grind with plenty of ups and downs along the way.
Last time I posted here I spoke about how my best form of advertising was through buying ads on bigger pages such as @menshumor, however I now have 3 affiliates on social media who have discount codes for their followers. I have noticed that I have far better success with the affiliates than I had with paid posts on bigger page. I feel people better connect with actual people who enjoy the product as opposed to bigger pages with a more generic type ad.
One issue I have run into as far as advertising is having Instagram be my main platform to drive traffic, and I have not seen much success with other platforms (such as facebook ads). A big goal of mine is to be able to tap into new platforms to drive customer traffic. Additionally I have recently seen success in email marketing, which is something I am studying more.
The first time I posted here I received great feedback/ advice which I am grateful for and was able to implement some changes to my site. If anyone has any additional advice or questions, I’d love to listen/ answer.

Over the past 5 years I've built, grown and managed ecommerce for Small Businesses as well as myself. Here's everything I know and have learned (14,000 words) - How to Start and Manage an eCommerce business entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
Hey guys,
I've lurked for a while and seen a lot of talk about eCommerce, but not so much the slightly more mundane improvements that help build successful stores.
So many times the boring details are lost in the glamour of sales, and I wanted to produce a valuable resource that highlighted some of these dull tasks that eventually lead to success. It's taken around 2 months but hopefully details every step you need to take to launch, and some tips for after.

Invest in Stock Management - Buy Good Shelving!
I've worked in a few stock rooms and all of them have had terrible cheap shelving systems.
In one company I was responsible for shipping all of the orders around Christmas. Everything was small, light and easy to package (small notebooks / cards / books) and would shift around 500 - 2,000 units a week.
Year 1 was a mess, with loads of returns because stock was disorganised. I had no idea when we were close to running out and in the rush often picked up the wrong unit to ship (SKU BOOK01 may fall into the spot for BOOK03).
Year 2, we bought a picking wall (stacking bins with open fronts) and life was so much easier. Returns reduced, ship times reduced and I knew how much we had of everything. Why? Because everything was in it's place, didn't move, and meant that muscle memory grabbing of products was accurate.
Takeaway: A little bit of planning and investment can make life so much easier if your stock room is organised and stays that way. So often shelving is overlooked, yet literally supports your business.
High Traffic Isn't Always Good
I recently joined a company and was put in charge of PPC.
Long story short - my predecessor had been spending £1,000 a month on display marketing for a product that was unprofitable but had high search visibility. So we were getting thousands of hits a month, quite cheaply, but for a product we never sold.
I killed the campaign, but had a hard time explaining to the CEO why it was a good thing.
Takeaway: Traffic isn't always good - focus on quality traffic that converts well, not just numbers.
Define Your Audience
Maybe I'm preaching to the choir, but always define your target audience.
I work with a lot of companies that have never done this, and it results in a high wasted spend on generic marketing.
The earlier you define several audiences, the easier the rest of your operations become. Especially growth, as you focus on finding more of your ideal customer.
Calculating Margins
Simple but often overlooked as an essential process - here's a spreadsheet I made to make life easier. Don't do anything else until you know how much profit you have to spend to acquire a user.
Calculate Target CRO to see potential Revenue
Also on the spreadsheet is a tab that you can enter in your current conversion rate, and a target. This is very useful for showing to stakeholders why you should be focusing on CRO as a business goal.
E.g. an existing CR of 0.5% going to 1% will double sales without any major restructuring or growth cost. But sometimes it takes putting figures in front of the boss to prove it.
Check Postage Sizes before starting FBA
Quite simply I fucked up! Bought a product to sell via FBA, but then for reasons it got removed and I had to sell it directly myself.
All the calculations I did were for FBA, not for normal post. One larger dimension meant it had to be shipped small parcel not large letter, so I am now spending £3.50 to ship a £5 item.
Takeaway: Measure and cost out all shipping options before buying product.
Choosing a CMS
This is a very rough and ready guide, but here's a rule of thumb I would go by:
- Singleman Operation - Shopify / Squarespace
- Small Business or have tech exp - Prestashop, WooCommerce, Shopify
- Small Business AND have tech exp - Magento
Working with Agencies
Make sure they have build good eCommerce sites before, and ask for their conversion rates. You would be surprised at how many web dev agencies don't understand some of the intricacies of eCommerce.
Some issues I've encountered:
- Not knowing what Google Shopping is
- Forgetting to design important pages - Basket / Checkout / Categories
- Inserting default manufacturers text on every product page that you can't edit
Takeaway: Be thorough with picking an agency, and ensure they have worked on successful ecommerce sites before. They're so much bigger than a static site that a non-ecommerce agency may miss a lot more.
Competitor Research: Find domains your competitor has
This is my final and favourite tip! Using a free BuiltWith account you can see the "relationship profile" tool to see what other domains relate to the original.
I've used this countless times to find out what other stores may they may be running. Particularly handy for Magento installations as they so often run multiple storefronts using the same product catalogue.

Has anybody looked into purchasing a bitcoin ATM? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
The rise of bitcoin and general scarcity of these ATMs makes this an appealing opportunity, and I'm fiddling with the idea of placing one in a local marijuana dispensary. However, the uncertain demand and higher capital investment (near the $10k range when cash ATMs run around $2k) have me a bit weary. Should I get experience with the cash ATM business first? Does anybody have experience with a bitcoin ATM?

Hey all -
I’m a successful recording artist (rock/pop) with my own label. My team is capable of major-label scale marketing muscle and I have several investors each committed at the 100k range, but proper marketing at this level requires $1-1.3m. It’s an unusual investment opportunity so I’m not sure if this is the ideal place to post this, therein lies my question - is anyone aware of music/art focused investor groups I could reach? Networks like LIVAMP are nice but based around giving % of music/publishing rights, whereas I’ve structured my LLC's offerings equity-style under unit shares, allowing investors to tap into every revenue stream (not just royalties).
As an independent musician I’ve accumulated over 115k in revenue and significant international PR since my debut EP release in 2013 - this revenue is entirely organic as I had no budget whatsoever and was not pursuing music full-time until moving to LA in 2015. There’s a wikipedia article detailing my career highlights and I can link a PR montage showcasing mass social media traction, live videos, awards/media and demos from the upcoming album. Pandora still plays my 2013 release on international rotation. As a male piano rocker, I’m going for a modernized electro-Elton John vibe that absolutely nobody is doing - my music/brand has proven itself in the commercial market and we have veteran radio program directors vouching for the viability of the new music, which is significantly more polished and appealing than the 2013 release thanks to the help of a multi-platinum producer with several #1 hits under his belt.
I've been offered signing deals under Sony and Epic records in the past, but have never been interested in the overall sacrifices that come along with signing my life over to a label…So my team and I have spent years dissecting the major label business model: at the end of the day they’re nothing more than small offices playing the part of the investor, who then outsources all recording and marketing efforts to roughly a dozen companies (mostly marketing). At this point I’m surrounded by dozens of industry veterans with many decades of experience who believe in the project and have helped me network with the exact PR firms, radio promotors, distributors, etc that the top labels use. My goal has always been to develop my own label to launch myself, exactly like Macklemore and Chance the Rapper. Both have made millions sans-label from single releases, and I know for a fact both worked with investors and followed these formulas. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (his producer) famously netted $36 million off of their album “The Heist”, which they split with each other 50/50. In contrast, major-label’s John Mayer has an established career of over 13 albums yet he sits at a net worth of roughly $40 million.
The $15bn music industry is very lucrative when you follow major label fundamentals - it just requires a very rare combination of circumstances: a proven artist brand, a proven music product with proven commercial demographics, proven performance appeal, and the proven industry connections to pull off true mass music marketing. It has taken years to develop this properly, but I can say in full confidence we’re 100% where we need to be and that this is going to work big time.
I have a comprehensive business plan for those unfamiliar with the music industry detailing precisely how we’ll accomplish everything, where every cent goes, the major players on our team, etc. I also have a finished PPM drafted up with my company’s formal investment offerings, so literally everything is in place and the album is over halfway done, we just need the remainder of the capital to execute timely marketing.
Would absolutely love any insight on where to find investors interested in music / the arts :)

Seeking new work laptop - pros/cons from switching from windows to mac? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
I am exclusively windows in pc, laptop, phone, etc. I have never used macs and am worried there is a longtransition period that might slow me down, though many people do like the mac.
Wondering if anyone else has switched and their eperience from it, both positive/negative and if it was worth it.
My use will be mostly for Chrome browsing with multiple tabs/extensions, Skype, word/excel, gdocs, onenote/onedrive, video watching, etc. Occasional Photo/video editing (very light, amateur, mostly for creating ads, slideshows, etc, nothing movie/filmmaking-esque).
I value speed and responsiveness since my current one has some lag when opening new tabs or loading programs, etc.

Project tracking software suggestion for small start-up? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog
I'm starting a legal consulting business. It's my first time not working at a huge company and Im having to learn how to do everything myself. New to this subreddit, so not sure if I'm in the right place.
I'll be helping big law firms find resources for cases, working with them on a case-by-case basis. I'm hoping to do roughly 20-30 cases a month for our initial few months.
I need software that will allow me to track the information and deliverables for each case, automate reminders internally (to my partner and I) and externally (to the law firms and other outside people I'll be working with).
I also need a file sharing service to share large files between my clients, but not sure if I should be trying to find software resources piecemeal or bundled.
Anybody have any suggestions? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also, any general small business software suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm in it right now. Had a very successful bike rental company in a seasonal tourist spot working out of a cheap and nasty industrial park. Rent was incredibly cheap and we just delivered the bikes to clients either to their hotel or rental house or the local bike path parking lot. Nobody needed to see we were running out of a rusty trash can.
Season one and two were profitable and growing (season two was 50% more gross sales) but soon clients found our location and started showing up at the industrial park. We rented some extra space there to create something at least presentable. This wasn't our business model but we just couldn't stop people from showing up.
During that season I'm finding that we can't grow fast enough to meet demand because we have no business credit so I take out a few loans from Kabbage and Blue Vine totaling $25k and basically just used the money to pay back the original loans just to build credit so we can get some term limits with bike manufacturers. Think like a $10k budget with net 90 day terms to pay it back. That's pretty much our whole season and would be all we need to start each year with a new fleet of bikes.
Season three is about to start and we get the boot from our industrial park due to overuse of the property. All those people showing up totally fucked us in the end. Now we scramble to find a new location and find an unbelievable spot right on main street between downtown and the beach. Every tourist will walk right by us every day but it's not big enough for all the bikes so we find an additional spot in another industrial park. Each spot costs double what we were paying at the rusty trash can.
Now just rent and utilities are quadruple what they were before and to compound it, another bike shop just opened up when there was none for the previous 5 years. We need money to open these new spots (first, last, and security to sign a lease) so we have to use those loans that were just sitting there. Now we have to hire more employees as well since we have two spots and with the competition, we don't see the increase in sales we were expecting based on the previous years sales.
The competition forced us to lower our prices and even though we have done roughly 20% more in sales than the previous year, our overhead has more than quadrupled. I used to just bail this place out of my pocket because expenses were not that much money and I knew I could get the money back next year but now I'm not so sure. We are currently flat broke and still trying to raise $500 that we need to pay rent tomorrow. My co-founder and myself and my wife did not get a paycheck last Friday but the other employees did. We are looking to liquidate assets to cover rent for the winter but I'm not sure it's going to work. I'm still in the hole roughly $12k for this season and don't see a light at the end of the tunnel.
This is not my day job but it is for my wife and brother in-law co-founder. We don't really need the money but other people in the family do. Feeling desperate and depressed at the moment and thinking I should just let it go. It's super fun and has a ton of potential but for me this season has just been extra stress with no profits to show for it. Not to mention my wife quit her job to run the shop on main street.
Any pointers?
