I added around 80% more content to my page and now it doesn't rank after 4 days. Is this normal? earn by blogging adsense income

I had a page which ranked around 12th for a search term. So I decided to give it an overhaul and add a lot more value to people searching. It's now ranked outside the top 100 unless I google specifically for that page (so I know Google has crawled it). Is this normal?
