Client removed page instead of 301ing and now lost his ranking, how fast can he get it back earn by blogging adsense income

Hey, we reccomended a change for a client to their url. They were supposed to 301 to the new URL but instead they just made a new url and 404'd the old one. They were outright removed from google search (from top 3 to gone) because the page was a 404.

This happened yesterday. Today we got the page back up and im reccomending that the client submit a crawl request from the webmaster tool.

My question is:

Will they recover from this?

If so, about how long will it take?
