I want to create a portfolio site with a blog. Will SquareSpace do the job in respect of SEO? earn by blogging adsense income

I have done a lot of reading about SEO and what platforms you should use. And because of such, I am aware that WP is king.

But, I can not lie to you guys. The lure of a 'drag & drop' builder just speaks to me. I am a little lazy. I have enough on my plate that I just don't want to start wrestling with learning WP. You may think that I deserve everything that comes my way for thinking that, but I am not ruling out WP. What I am asking then is for someone to share some insight which I can use to justify my emotional attachment to doing things the easy way. If I can't get it - then I will bite the bullet and learn WP. But yah can't hate on a guy for wanting a simpler way to build a website. It's a crowded boat that I am in and I imagine that is why they are so successful. I get that I am part of the problem.

Here's what I am trying to do. I am a copywriter and so I want a simple website to show off some samples and as a place to write a blog which I can use to rank organically

• Landing page. Nothing complicated. It's basically going to be my main sales pitch. I want to convert leads from this page alone. My C2A being a contact button
• Sample pages. I will probably create up to 5 pages which will host 5 different types of copywriting. Samples all throughout the page. Nothing heavy.
• In the future, I might write an e-book. So I will create another sales pitch page to sell it.
• About me & Contact me. Standard pages really.
• Blog. This will be the bulk of my active content. Just loads of blog posts which concern copywriting.

Regarding the blog - my studies into SEO reveal that content is king. If my content is on point, from an SEO perspective, and I utilise the SEO tools like H-Tags, Meta descriptions, utilising URL's etc (all of which is possible in SS?) - is there any reason why this wouldn't rank well organically over time?

If all of the above is true, and I don't really expand the website beyond those pages and a blog, is Square Space a good enough solution to my problem? Or is it worth the extra effort to secure myself for the future?
