I have been assigned the task of improving website SEO and need to create a presentation with my observations about our site SEO as well as our competitor's SEO. I'm primarily using SEMrush, Google Analytics, and SEO Audits to compare data.
So far I've compiled the keyword count, # of long-tail keywords ranking 1st, estimated monthly traffic, the keys generating largest % of traffic, and shared keywords across the competitor's sites. While this data seems important, with only a single Udemy course under my belt, I'm finding it hard to make connections between them and am having difficulty developing a course of action with them. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Along with the last paragraph, I'm eager to know what other areas of SEO I should focus on.
On our particular site, the word "price" occurs 62 times, making up 26% of total words. This came to my attention on an SEO report, so I'm not too sure if it's being interpreted as a keyword, if so it's probably recognized as spam.
TL;DR:
- What areas of a site should I examine to learn more about competitor's SEO rank and tactics to overcome them?
- Does a simple word like "price" with a density of 26% affect the site in a negative way? Any way to blacklist this?
