So I've been looking into SEO for a long time now and I always find myself trying to write as many words as possible into my actual blog on WordPress. That does not mean I am taking away from the quality of the content but I do prefer longer post.
However, I have found myself starting to write descriptions for the actual photos on the blog post. I've been doing this for quite some time but I am starting to get doubts that it actually benefits me in anyway. I would write a short description that would be two or three sentences long. My reasoning would be that the description would allow google to understand what the photo is and be able to use it in the meta-data.
Should I stop doing it? Does it really matter to write a description on the photos?
