I need to work on an Seo audit for the first time and I am struggling with some basics, as I have no reference point to start with. I would appreciate any help!

How do I know if a domain has a healthy backlink profile? I am having a look at SEM rush (without having access to the paid version), and I am not sure how to interpret the numbers I see. The overall toxic score for example is apparently high (>5% + 10%potentially toxic),. Some of the sites are super spammy (with a toxic score of 100%), but what do I do with that information? What other numbers should I look out for?
