SEO without PBN even possible? earn by blogging adsense income

Hey there fellow SEOs,

I have a confession to make: I'm a BlackHatSEO and I hate it! When I say qickly ranking a client's Websites for a big keywords in their niche sells, than I mean, IT SELLS. With a great PBN it often takes no longer than 2 to 3 months to get a local business ranking #1 every time. If the on-site SEO is set up well enough, then maintaining the ranking is so easy, it isn't worth the money I make, seriously!

This is how I was taught SEO and it was an exhilarating and exciting way to make "big" money online. I love being on the dark side of things some times. Call me a BlackHatSEO and I deny it, though I love convincing myself to be a villain every now and then and doing exciting things like this.

Now granted I never robbed or killed anyone, nor do I intend to. To be honest, I am really not a villain other than I liked the feeling of excitement of getting a big payout for things that were so easy to do, I was practically gaming the system.

A friend of mine - also wearing the infamous Blackhat - made 20k a month with a single client, just to keep the client ranking for a few main keywords.

What work did he do for that client, you ask? Well, pretty much nothing more difficult than doing the cheapest on-page SEO you can imagine and a large PBN, adding a few links every month.

If you wonder who would pay a monthly fee of 20k for SEO services , someone in the kind of niche most SEOs stay away from. Someone whom also doesn't have a clue, that half of the work this SEO does, could get his (obviously profitable) website de-indexed in no time.

Really, I don't want to encourage anyone new to SEO to follow this method. Google is getting better at figuring out who the black sheep are every day. The same friend that made a 20k a month from one client, got 40 PB's de-indexed (banned) which caused a few of his clients to drop in ranking significantly.

There are Blackhat methods he used to recover rankings for some of his client's but I'm not here to share them.

The point I am trying to make is the following: I came to the understanding and realization, that messing around with this, can get genuine people's business's de-indexed and banned from Google. Even the methods employed to save such rankings aren't a long-term solution.

I no longer want to mess with peoples businesses in a way I wouldn't want my agency to be messed with.

Since that realization I drop all my clients that were ranking because I used blackhat techniques. I told them, I was no longer capable to maintain their ranking and that I couldn't refer them to another Agency. (I don't know any whitehatSEO's).

I shot my PBN's into the Google abyss.

I want to start over, the right way.

Now standing at the foot of this new mountain to climb, I wonder, is there even a way to rank clients without a PBN or is the entire SEO industry relying on PBN's to rank sites?

Are things like audits, and technical-SEO the focus for whitehat agencies?
