I manage my company's website and we've been seeing a consistent drop in traffic of the last couple of weeks. Most of the pages are down, but not all. We've also lost lost page 1 position on a handful of keywords.
I've explored all of the obvious questions:
1. Was there a recent Google algorithm change?
2. Is the drop specific to any segment?
3. Is the site being penalized?
4. Dd the drop coincide with a major site change?
5. Did a competitor steal ranking share?
6. Did it coincide with a rise in direct (or dark) traffic?
7. Has there been a change to SERPs for an important page?
8. Is the drop specific to branded or unbranded traffic?
9. Have a significant number of pages been dropped from the index?
10. Have a significant number of referring domains/links been lost?
11. Is SEM cannibalizing SEO traffic?
12. Was the site demoted due to on-page issues?
13. Is it just Google flux?
Far as I can tell, none of these seem to be the culprit.
Anyone have any thoughts on what else might be causing it?
