Hi, I'm currently helping a friend turn his part-time work of giving tours in Japan into a full business (working on the IT side, mostly technical stuff but no experience on running a business).
At the moment we get clients by word of mouth. I'm figuring out how the travel guide business runs as I go along and want to ask the folks here who are/had done this business, how do you advertise itself while starting up? If you are a small business, how did you get your presence known despite competing with bigger rival businesses (e.g. official travel tours of (name) country)?
