Need Help with my Small Business - Big Changes and Lots of Hoops in Quebec entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hi everyone, I am currently working with my father running a plumbing company based out of Montreal since 1971. Currently, the company is him and I, as well as a part-time secretary/bookkeeper that works approximately 8 hours a week. My father is looking into some serious retirement options (he's 55 now, looking into retirement in the next 5 years) at that time I will be taking over the company (I'm 19 now). Currently, my father and I hand write our invoices and then accept payments through cheque or cash (I'm still trying to convince him that the 3-5% charge for credit cards is worth the effort) and then, 2x a week, the bookkeeper comes in she will take these receipts, expenses of the week, etc and enter them into the company computer (We use a program called Acceo Avantage, more on that later). She also writes the checks for the payments not done online as well as the employee pay. Basically, there's a lot of work that seems to be getting done twice for no reason, when simpler methods seem to exist.

My main concern here is this; my father and the bookkeeper are leaving soon, and I won't be able to find a suitable replacement for her to do the work. I want to move to a simpler method in which I can be more self-sufficient and spend more time working and less time doing the work she does. I've been looking at solutions such as Freshbooks or Quickbooks, however, what seems to throw a big wrench into the plans is the fact that I need to manage the salary, employee(s) and benefits rates that come from the governing body of construction in Quebec (the CCQ and CMMTQ specifically for plumbing) and so far the only program I know that does this is the outdated one that we use.

Do any contractors or small business owners of Quebec have some sort of solution they've found? So far this has all been kind of overwhelming to me and honestly, it's really discouraging to me that I might need to do 8-10 hours of this work every week on top of the 45-55 hours of service work I already do once I take over the business.
