New to SEO, need help grasping SEO titles for my blog earn by blogging adsense income

Hi, everyone

I’ve recently created a new blog with WordPress and I’m using the Yoast SEO plugin.

I’m having trouble really understanding how an SEO title is supposed to work.

For example, I’d like to write an article called “5 podcast episodes for Christmas history buffs.” When it comes to optimizing for a keyword, I’m a little lost. I imagine that people interested in something like that would search for something along the lines of “Christmas history podcast”

But if I say that I’d like to optimize for that, yoast will say the keyword doesn’t appear in my title or slug, etc. they want the exact phrase, I guess.

So do I really optimize for the precise phrase “podcast episodes for Christmas history buffs”? Or would that title turn up on a search for “Christmas history podcast”?

I hope my question makes sense. And thanks in advance for any help you can offer! 🙂
