WP dev getting requests for “SEO/Marketing services” but have little experience with it. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

My original intent was to start with a focus on small businesses and do web development and helping them with their WordPress site, and expand from there.

Naturally, WordPress provides a lot of ways to integrate Social media, Email & capturing leads, content marketing, etc... so it’s kind of been on my mind.

I’ve gotten a couple requests/suggestions to do SEO, social media, etc.. services, but I don’t yet have a lot of success with online marketing myself.

I’m basically getting all of my business from word of mouth, which isn’t much, but I’ve only started recently.

So what should I do?

I feel like there’s two parts to my equation.

  1. My own results

  2. Figuring out what to do for my clients

And then the question: to Niche or not to niche?

My main fear is taking on too much and getting overwhelmed. So I thought maybe mastering One platform (like Instagram for ex.) would be better than taking on a whole bunch of things...

I was also thinking I could do like... two. One paid platform (like FB ads) and one organic platform (like YouTube or Twitter), one for quick results and the other for slower long term results.

How can I ethically sell marketing services to clients when My email list is tiny and my social media followings/Traffic are not impressive? I know I need consistency, and they’re growing, but... not fast.

I guess I know more than my clients though, so I probably should just shut the fuck up and get to work?
