I work for a company that has a news and events section on their site (managed on Hubspot). We are trying to figure out a better process for handling archived/old posts instead of deleting them outright and ending up with 404 pages.
Hubspot automatically creates 301 redirects when you change url names for particular content pages, and it looks like Google has said it no longer penalizes for 3XX redirects in general.
I'm curious if, from an SEO perspective, it is more beneficial to have a static url that we update periodically with new information or to lean on Hubspot's built-in 301 redirects. Or does it matter any more.
I'm new to working on SEO. My main focus is usually social.
