CNN no follow earn by blogging adsense income

I'm working hard as hell to grow my business. My business was linked by CNN in an online article (felt like the king of the world), but after further research today they used a "no follow" in the code. It looks like that does no help boost SEO for my business correct? Hardly any traffic has been boosted from CNN's reference. I'm new to this. Please Help!
