Over the years of doing SEO I've come across of number of absolutely bat- 💩 crazy theories about how Google works and how to improve your rankings. Ranging from optimizing for "Google's Ranking Factors" to "The best way to determine keyword difficulty is to Google the keyword and look at the number or results Google says it has."
What's the dumbest SEO conspiracy theory you've ever heard about?
For me, it still has to be: "Spamming comments with a link in the comment, with the anchor text set to an emoji will improve your Google rankings." BTW: This person thought they were a rocket scientist and were really on to something big here.
