Thoughts on a broad keyword focused domain name, for a small local business earn by blogging adsense income

I have a friend who would like me to choose his domain name. He works in health care and owns about 10 domains that are very broad such as: betterdentisrty.com friendlydentists.com etc etc

From an SEO standpoint, would a keyword specific domain be better for a small practice consisting of one employee

OR would, johnsdentistry.com, for example, be easier to rank locally?
