Can I link my websites (1000+) to each other in order to build backlinks? earn by blogging adsense income

My company builds websites and handles SEO for over 1000 dental/medical offices in the country. I was thinking if Google would penalize us for having maybe a dozen links on our blog pages that link to our other dental pages (not in competitive areas of course) with the permission of clients. Would this negatively affect our SEO? We have our name on every site we build. Thoughts?
