So I have a new client that has built their website on BigCommerce and I have noticed a number of issues with their cms.

The cms auto generates a sitemap.php instead of sitemap.xml and that is what they tell people to put into Google Search Console which doesn't work. When I have contacted their support to change this or give me an option to add in my own sitemap.xml they say it is not possible.

If you put an SSL onto the website, the cms adds in a new robots.txt file called robots_ssl.txt that disallows all crawlers from indexing all pages on the website. Have also been on the phone with support for a week to fix this and their solution is to submit a new sitemap through GSC (also not possible from point 1).
Essentially this cms just wants people to not have their website crawled and I now have a pissed off client with a website that can't be indexed by Google.
