display:none for sidebars on mobile device ok for seo? earn by blogging adsense income

I know display:none is not ideal for much of anything, but as long as Google doesn't see a bunch of text associated with display:none class/id is it ok? I basically have a few links (which are redundant really as they are in the top menu) and images in the sidebar ill be hiding so mobile view is more legible at 100% width...
