Videos in place of alt text pics? earn by blogging adsense income

Hi All,

I was thinking of replacing some of the alt text pictures on my blogs and essays on my website with embedded youtube videos that I would make on the same subject for each one. Is this a crazy idea, and if not, how long should they be?
