How much damage have I done by setting my site to noindex temporarily? earn by blogging adsense income

I accidentally set a global robots header to no index like 2 weeks ago and didn't notice until today. I lost a page on Google that was ranked 2, which is how I found out. I can remove this header later tonight, but wondering how much damage is permanently done.

The webmaster tools section has a button for resubmitting when "the issue is fixed," which seems to imply Google is aware this header may be temporary and hopefully won't harm my ranking for it, right?

While it was simply an accident, I imagine it's viable for a large website to need to be deindexed temporarily, e.g. for maintanence, and Google would be understanding not to permanently damage their placement once they come back online, assuming everything is still functional?

Thanks for any info.
