Here's a summary of the journey:

• 12 months ago, we (a small design agency) launched a tiny experimental service. Unlimited design.

• After serving a couple of clients and growing to $1500 in 48 hours, we learned a couple of things: The best clients that stayed the longest, needed help mostly with UI design. Most of them were web and mobile development teams. Also we were undercharging. Like, way way undercharging.

• We took all the learnings and relaunched a new service: Unlimited UI design for web and mobile development teams. 3 months in, with a blank slate (we haven't marketed to our previous clients yet) we hit the $10k/mo mark. We're now closing in on the 20k/mo mark and love every second of the journey.

• Wantrepreneur: "But how do you scale". Our goal isn't to build a $1B unicorn. We want to build an awesome businesses where everybody lives the lifestyle they choose to live. We'd rather work with a handful of awesome clients on projects we love, and spend time with family and friends; instead of working 900 hours a week hoping for a payday that might never happen.

For anyone out there that's having difficulty getting started: Just launch anything, even if you sell for peanuts. Just launch, learn as you go, keep growing, charge more and go from the broad service/product you started with, to a more focussed on where you serve the customers you've enjoyed working with the most.
