I had an interview a few days ago with a start up and at the end of the interview I became complete confused on my understanding of start ups and entrepreneurship. Here are a few things that I felt were shady:
- barely found anything on Google about the company
- the company website (poor layout imo) shows that the company started about 1-2 years ago and has random videos promoting the app
- no app in the App Store even though company was 1-2 years, but the website allows you to request the beta
When I was interviewing and indicated my concerns about some things the owner told me that the reason for lack of information is because it’s proprietary and I didn’t understand entrepreneurship and marketing. I understand having proprietary information but I don’t understand how that fits into not even giving a general overview of what your app does. My idea of a start up was that at least by year 1/2 you have a semi/completely working app before you even consider trying to have a website. Now if you were still working on it and needed more people and created a website to get people at least you would have general info on what you app does and needs help on. Am I mistaken? Feel free to be brutal if I am stupid because I want to learn and won’t take any offense to comments
