New job - boss wants focus on SEO earn by blogging adsense income

I was originally hired as a Google Ads specialist, but my role has changed entirely over the past month. My manager wants me to focus on making our site rank higher on google (and specific landing pages connected to our site). I have little experience when it comes to SEO beyond Yoast SEO on Wordpress,

I am happy to take a deep dive to get started, but I am not sure where to start. Is it even possible for any of you to provide any feedback as to what I should prioritise when it comes to my SEO strategy ? We use Wordpress.
