Flood work in Houston entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I have worked on a major flood like Houston before. It was some of the most rewarding work I have ever done monetarily and personally. I wish I had more time to post details but Im going into my normal job today and will update on breaks. In about 10 hours this thread will have my full attention. Here is the skinny version:

1. All services and resources are at capacity in the area. If 4 guys with the proper resources can start working on a homeowners property right then you can name your own price. Available workers to stop home damage are extremely valuable. Largest job I worked was cleaning(no demo, no hauling) a huge house for 100k.

2. The work will happen in 3-4 phases from this flood. Water removal, demo/hauling, cleaning, rebuild. There is years of work in the Houston area because of this storm. The faster you get in, the higher the margins by exponential amounts.

3. Part of the job is treating the house for mold. Having a professional who is very knowledgeable about all aspects of mold is essential for the crew. A demo guy and some other skills are required too, but those are easy to come by.

4. You have to have some basics which are expensive up front, but they pay for themselves quickly. Work vehicles, water pumps, air movers, dehumidifiers, generators, camping gear, PPE, water/food, etc...

5. Id be willing to contribute my knowledge, labor, and skills to working on a crew formed here. We need guys, money, and tools in that order. If all else fails Im going down there to work as a laborer on an already established crew. I have basic construction knowledge, basic flood knowledge, and have done the sales side of this.

6. Im open to helping whoever wants to join this project. One thing working MajCats is that flexibility and resourcefulness is essential. Ill take whatever I get from this thread with me to Houston. All trades are needed and the situation will change a lot.

I know this is sloppy but I am already late for work. My boss knows I plan on going down there after this week is over. I am bringing everything I need for 2 weeks down there include camping gear. If you want to join me in labor, business, or just have questions please reach out. Im in the Chicago area if you want to meet up and will exchange my number through pm for phone calls. Its dangerous down there and the more people in your group the better. There is a lot more to it and I will tidy up the post after work today. Even if you arent interested in working with me, ill still help however I can since it will help flood victims.

Last thing is that I will not be involved in taking advantageof people. The services provided will be top knotch and worth the money the people in need spend.
