How does one successfully market a B2B company in an environment like Facebook? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hello guys,

My name is Ash and I'm an online marketeer from the Netherlands. Beforehand, I must do the cliche thing of saying I'm sorry for my lack of english languange skills; It is not my native tongue.

I work at a company called FP-ruys, and we are one of the main manufacturers and sellers of frankingmachines in the country (Also Belgium and luxembourg). Here is our dutch website: www.fp-ruys.nl

Short explanation on the product: A frankingmachine is a machine that automatically stamps letters or packages passing through it and computes the total charge.

Our target group consists of companies (!) that send more than 50 letters a day, because they will save on postal costs from that amount and above.

We sell our B2B product from a few different marketing channels, including e-mail marketing and adwords campaigns leading to landing pages and our own website, but the main source of sales comes from telemarketing.

I was hired and put in charge of the complete online marketing of this company. That also includes web-development, web-design, social media, SEO, SEA, email marketing.... you get the picture. Kind of an one-man-army kinda job.

Here comes the issue; While we are the leading manufacturer in frankingmachines, to my total suprise I saw that we have no Social Media activity whatsoever! After a quick brainstorm, I realised I have no clue how I should market/promote a B2B business in a environment like Facebook.

We also can't keep posting stuff about our product, because we only have a few different products; we are not in the market of developing a new machine every now and then, like machines for consumer usage. We make machines that go on for at least a decade.

I'm aware I should start putting a lot of effort into LinkedIn because of our target group, but I don't want to just leave Facebook out of sight.

So, - What kind of content should I keep on posting every now and then? - How do I gain more followers/subscribers/likes? - How do I find the proper target group on a B2C dominant medium? - Should I concider NOT using this medium, and put all of my effort into LinkedIn?

So my General question to you, my fellow redditors, how can I create a solid online presence on Facebook, and how do I keep it alive?
