Exactly six years and three days ago, I sewed my first bag. Through that project I came up with an idea for rotating buckles. In March of 2012 I filed my first patent application. My patent was granted in April of 2015. During that time period I tried to partner with an established bag company, but that relationship didn't last. They didn't like not being in control of the buckles, and wanted to ensure their designs originated in-house. At this point, it was just me, and I decided to start my own bag company. Eventually, in March of 2016 I met my first co-founder. He was instrumental in helping to develop a great bag. I showed this prototype bag to reddit, and one of you reached out to me to give me a manufacturing contact in Vietnam. I flew there in November 2016, and returned with a more-or-less finished design. The second co-founder joined shortly after this trip. He has been responsible for our digital presence. He made the website, and figured out how to market us through Facebook ads. So, we spent a bunch of money over there, and gained a substantial email list. Using this list, we launched this morning.
