Multi-language, (same region) website advice? earn by blogging adsense income

Hi, I have a standard English website for the U.S., but I'd like to reach Spanish speakers in the U.S.

What's the best way to set up my site? I was thinking of setting up a subdomain at espanol.mysite.com. I'm not targeting a different geographical region just a different language.

And, as far as content goes, I was thinking of just duplicating my site and replacing the English words to their Spanish (I speak Spanish). I would also make sure the content is unique and tailored as needed.

What's the best way to do this as to avoid Google's wrath? (Same region, different language) Any links would be helpful. Thanks to all in advance!
