While goals rely on extrinsic motivation, habits are automatic. They literally rewire our brains.

I've read a lot about focusing on process vs. goals, and I agree for the most part. I think we need goals to point us in the right direction, but then the bulk of our energy and time should be spent on developing and following processes/habits/systems that we can repeat on a daily/weekly basis that will inevitably lead us to our goal.

I've realized that for the past 6-9 months, I've relied too much on my emotional state to get me started on making progress towards things I need to get done. As a result, as you can imagine, I have procrastinated a lot and not gotten the best results I should have.

Out of curiosity, what kind of systems/habits do you have in place so that you are consistent each day and not held hostage to your feelings/emotions?
