Advertising through illegal activities...? (bear with me) entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

No, I'm not sponsoring my local neighbourhood drug dealer or starting a dog fighting ring.

However, we are currently looking to branch out to different advertising streams. We are often limited by what we can advertise through as we work through gambling sites and thus some company policies just won't allow us (Facebook for example).

I am thinking of the likes of uTorrent, BitTorrent, websites that stream live sports, etc. I understand this is an illegal activity - but, would we be held liable legally for paying for ads on these sites/software?
