Before you skip this post, let me explain (and please forgive the click-baity title).
It's not going to be some MLM, join my thing, buy my system post. It's not a get rich quick scheme and it probably isn't even for you.
Now, I don't want to waste your time so here's who this is for.
This is for people who want to be exactly who they are, do the things they love, and make loads of money doing it.
Is is that you? Yeah? Good.
Ok, let's go.
I believe you posses the knowledge right now that people would pay you money for.
The things you've experienced, the knowledge you've gained, the things you know, are all something that someone else will pay for.
Crazy, right?
I thought so too. But think about this..
We make certain decisions that have sent our lives down a specific path, kind of like a fork in the road.
And each one of those forks makes us smarter. We adapt, pick up hobbies, and learn new skills along the way.
To us, these "skills" are second nature. We don't consider them skills because that's just who we are. It's what we do.
But those skills, those experiences, those natural abilities, could be used to pay for your entire life.
See, all the stuff you've been through brings knowledge that someone else doesnt have. Your knowledge is valuable.
And when you have something valuable, other people tend to want it.
"But /u/the_highest everyone knows this stuff. My knowledge isn't valuable".
Don't think so? Well you're wrong. And I can prove it mathematically..
Ok, not really.
BUT..
If you think that NO ONE in the 7 and a half BILLION people on this planet care what you have to say, then the rest of this post probably isn't for you.
Still with me? Cool.
Here's some examples..
Those crazy good cooking skills that you picked up from your mom during the thanksgiving/Christmas rush?
There's a brand new family, right now, planning to have Thanksgiving dinner at their house for the first time. The whole family is coming to see their new house. It has to be perfect.
But they have no idea how to cook.
In desperation, they turn to YouTube. They search for an hour but no one seems to fit with them. And then they see it..
Your video.
The video you made because you decided to share your Expert cooking knowledge with the world.
They click it and follow your instructions to the T. Thanksgiving comes, and they pull the hot, steaming turkey from the oven. The whole family loves it.
And it's your recipe.
Turns out, you have a whole book of recipes for sale. They buy one and share it with their friends. One of those friends is a blogger with 100,000 subscribers.
She reviews your cookbook and a flood of cash comes pouring in. How much cash?
Let's say only 25% buy your $7 cookbook..
You just made $175k.
And it all started with sharing the knowledge that you have.
Or maybe you can sing. You've been singing since you were a baby and over the years, you've developed a powerful voice.
You can keep up with the best of them but you only sing in the car, shower, or alone. You're too shy and your heart starts beating faster just thinking about singing in front of people. Soon enough you'll have a panic attack.
Again.
But one day, you say "Fuck it. I'm facing my fear today".
You upload videos to YouTube with a link to iTunes. Within a month you have 10 subscribers. But it stays that way..
For months.
After 6 months of doubting yourself, uploading videos, busting your ass, and almost quitting, you get your 11th subscriber.
It's a fellow YouTuber with 10 million subscribers and they fall in love with your style. You get a shoutout on their channel. And a flood of subscribers come in.. A million to be exact.
Out of that million, 30k of them buy your $5 album on iTunes.
You just made $150k.
See, the thing is, we've never been told this stuff.
We've been told that there is a certain type of skill set that people will pay you money for. There's only one skill set that will work.
The skill set of an employee.
Go to school, get a degree, get a job, get promoted, and vacation once a year.
Barf.
Now, some of you are fine with that and that's perfectly ok. This post isn't for you.
You're perfectly content and happy with where you are in life and that's awesome. This post isn't for you.
But for those of you that want more, I commend you to look inside yourself and really see what skills you have.
Those skills, those inherent abilities, those things that make you, you. Those are the very skills that other people are looking to pay someone for.
Why can't that someone be you?
