What do you think about "dry testing" online informational products? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I have a product in mind, but before spending moths and a few grand making it, I'd like to test the market with a few adds and a sales page that once you click "buy", it gives you a response that says something like, "thanks for your interest, unfortunately we've limited sales to 50 classes in order to best serve our customers. We will send you an email when the class re-opens."
