SEO Sounds/Feels Like A lot Of Work. earn by blogging adsense income

I'm a student, and I'm a freelancer offering web design services. The main thing I don't like at all is SEO,and I have a couple of questions about it.

1. I heard you have to regularly maintain SEO for a website, so their ranking won't go down, is this true? This seems like too much work if you ask me. Imagine having to do that for 100+ clients! How do people even handle it?

2. Do I have to offer SEO to my clients? Can I just redirect them to an SEO agency and they can take care of it? SEO isn't my strong skill, especially since this is a one man team. I don't want my clients to complain that their rankings are going down, or they aren't getting enough traffic, or sales; I wouldnt know how to respond to that

3. How do you guys do it? What do you use? Is there software out there that can automatically update your websites SEO or something?
