Hey everybody.
I started a small business building websites last year...
then got into the digital marketing world,
and now I am making content for websites.
I want to start consulting as I have a varied amount of skills and knowledge, and so far I have charged cheaply for my services all in an effort to learn (its worked)
Now, I want to make sure I protect myself and also get the money I deserve...
So far I have been using contracts, but how else do I hold the client liable for what we are exchanging?
I guess what I'm asking is: Is a contract enough? What other measures should a newbie entrepreneur take to make sure that they are protecting themselves and getting what they deserve?
Hopefully I don't sound overly ignorant, I took the leap last year after a rather uneventful life. I come from a poor family (not trying to jerk tears here) and business is a crazy world with pieces I do not understand so far. Of course, google has been a major friend to me. But sometimes I see value in asking on reddit for such a "long-tail" inquiry.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
