My site's SEO: Learn it on my own or outsource it? earn by blogging adsense income

I’m new to blogging and I’m doing it on the side .I want to spend more time on it to get more traffic and eventually, to monetize it. I created it because I found myself reading a lot of articles about what to pick btw 2 or more items when I wanted to shop for something. Hence the name, www.whattopick.com. I got different opinions about what my side needs in terms of SEO. I don't know if I should do it myself or outsource it to someone offshore.
