Seeking Some Solid Advice From Seasoned Business Owners/Entrepreneurs Regarding Recruiting/Forming Partnerships entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Background info:

I have a personal family friend that I've know for numerous years. Said person is successful in his industry (think 8 figures). His business is in a "Hard" industry (mining, metals, O&G, telecomm, etc). Aka high barriers to entry "old boys club" mentality.

He is a very busy individual (payroll averages around $600k/month), just so you can understand the magnitude of the operation he runs.

We have been talking back and forth extensively for the past few months. Mainly streaming ideas back and forth (I am 26-years-old and he is 35). I am also still in school and I am graduating this year.

Over the past few weeks we have been texting back and forth a few times per week. I realize he is busy with TNC's so I try and limit my communication to short and sweet, because I realize that he's busy with major corporations.

Yesterday I texted him, he apologized for the lack of response over the past few days, and that he is free today to talk. Anyways, today comes, I call him, he doesn't answer, but texts me saying he will call me back in 10 mins. Great!

10,20,30 mins, 1 hour later still no response. Naturally I text him and ask how things are looking on his end". No response.

My question for fellow redditors that own substantial businesses/have been successful. What would you do in my circumstance?

I want to call/text him and say "Hey we didn't get to talk today, but....".

On the other, I want to give him his space, because I don't want to seem desperate and/or overbearing. I want him to know that I'd like to partner with him (and I've been clear about that in prior convos with him), but not calling or texting me was a bummer, to say the least.

Should I message him again and ask what happened today and re-schedule the call? Or let it be for the time being?
