How to make money on mobile apps? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey everyone,

as maybe some of you know I am an owner of a software house making mobile apps.

Recently I was curious how the mobile app business looks like from the other side - specifically, how can you earn money being an app owner?

I've made a query on HARO and 7 app entrepreneurs responded to my questions about their app monetization strategies. Some of their tips have been pretty surprising to me. They mention app store commission restriction, shifting from one strategy to another and many other interesting things.

So I wanted to raise a discussion after a very fruitful one that we had some while ago about Estonia and software development in some other eastern european countries.

Are there any app owners here? Could you share with us your app monetization strategy, your experiences connected with raising money on mobile apps (failures, successes, anegdotes - anything!) or any other insights important for the topic?

I'm curious because we are hearing all the time, that the app market is worth billions of dollars. Yes sure, but isn't the most of that money coming to the big players like Google, Facebook etc? So maybe the whole mobile apps bubble is just a fad? Or maybe they are true gold mines?
