Feeling lost in the marketing jungle entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I have a local service business that is in the very early stages, but it is a minimally viable product and I am serving customers, though very infrequently. I have a website that is not where it needs to be for SEO, but is pretty appealing and does a half-decent job of selling the service's benefits and addressing FUD. My target market is middle to high-income parents with children ages 3-11, primarily mothers.

Right now, I'm reading marketing books to figure out what to do next; what my goal should be. So far my to-do list looks like this:

1. Develop more fleshed out descriptions of service features and benefits for marketing efforts.

2. Meet with graphic designer to work on better logos for use on website, facebook, other social media, and online business directories.

3. List of Marketing Questions to Answer

• What do we want our current marketing goal to be?
• Who is our target market?
• What do we want to know about them right now?
• Best traction channels for reaching our target market?
• How do we track results of our traction channels?
• How best to present ourselves to our target market?

Some of those questions have already been addressed but need work because the answers are not as useful/clear as I'd like, and others can't be answered until previous questions are.

Based on what I know now, my tentative goal is a mix of increasing brand awareness and finding a cost-effective advertising method for people actively seeking a solution. I have a facebook page up and have shared some content that links to the website, but I'm hesitant to really move forward with creating and publishing more content until I have a better idea of how to figure out what works/what my target market wants and how I can track the results of my marketing: shares/likes/traffic drive to website, etc.

Marketing is a brave new world for me and it feels like I'm hacking through a jungle and can't see more than 5 feet in front of me, so I'd like to hear your suggestions or similar experiences.
