How to monetize a sports news site? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I've always wanted to have a site that just covers sports news but I also need proper compensation for me to invest time and money into a project. How can I monetize a site like this? Because it's sports news people are going to just get the information they needed and back out. The only think I can think of is ads and that is just pennies unless you get shit loads of visitors
