I am currently a seller of a specific niche of items, and have to resort to larger marketplaces such as Ebay, Amazon, and Etsy to push my product. While saying this, it also makes it difficult due to the large variety of other items and sellers ALSO selling products similar, and different to mine. I have created my own website (Big Cartel Shop) selling only my products but feel that there is much room to grow. As of right now I am selling what I would consider a successful amount of product, but as most of us do, I want MORE.
How would I go about creating my own marketplace, focusing on my specific niche which no programming knowledge?
My dream product would be a niche marketplace that allowed users to create an account, to buy and sell products themselves while I take commission. Doing so, I would eliminate my use for the huge marketplaces, as well as others in the category as myself.
From the research I've done, I've found that the most simple way to do this is to run off of templates and plugins. Am I better off outsourcing a website designer? Learning design and programming myself? I would appreciate any and all advice!
