We believe it's time to modernize education. To achieve this we aim to automatize the monotonous tasks of teachers with intelligent solutions that give them the opportunity to focus on teaching, not paperwork. We also believe, that education has to be personalized in the future, not like today.
So what do we do?
In short: We give a platform where teachers can create digital classrooms in which they share materials, make online tests, exams and receive thorough feedback on students' performance all in one place! Our service's unique strength is its completely self-developed Quizzing system that enables great-variety of question types, understands complex math inputs other test engines fail to understand and measures student activity in great detail for further analysis.
So here is EduBase.
Give me your blunt and brutal feedback on your first impression. We are from Hungary and we just released our service in English today.
In more detail:
Our whole website started in 2014 as a hobby project, but back then it was only for video sharing as our Hungarian videos on YouTube were becoming very popular in the country. Last year we started developing our Quizzing system because we haven't found any on the web that would meet our needs of understanding complex mathematical inputs. (E.g. if you need to type the answer "2x+1", it should also accept "x + sin2 (x)+x+cos(x)2" as a solution or any other crazy thing that is equivalent.)
We realized that it would make sense to open up our website to everyone to create their own learning communities (Digital Classrooms as we call them for now), so from today on EduBase you can basically create your own video courses with awesome quizzes.
Our website can now be used for examination too, in fact we have already tried it out in an official university course, where students could optionally take their exam in our system. It was marvelous to see that ~200 students finished with their exams, knowing their results in less then 2 hours from sitting down. As our system corrects, scores and grades instantly they could go home without feeling anxious about the uncertainty of their results. They liked it a lot!
Well... they could Google everything... or a friend could log in from the dorm to do their test for them... of course they liked it.
Not exactly... Our exam module is armed with security features (eg.: IP location login restriction, no login from multiple places at the same time, cheating detection in case of peeking on other tabs like Wikipedia, 2-step authentication for supervisors and instant recovery from computer crash during exam) for ensuring a safe examination.
Everyone can use our website for free forever after a quick and easy sign up, but with a few small limitations.
Next steps:
Now it's time for us to grow, so we need to find English speaking high schools and higher-ed teachers, educators who would be willing to try out EduBase (and also give some feedback). The US seems to be promising as there are many initiatives (and companies) in education, or at least much more than in our country...
Where can you find teachers who would be interested in this platform? Do you have anyone in mind who seeks for this service or already using something like ours but dissatisfied with it? I'm just curious how would you start growing a business like ours.
We are also looking for other businesses who would use EduBase for internal training/education, as our service is a big time and energy saver for them too!
Your comments are much appreciated. Have a wonderful day!
