Should I just start by selling ANYTHING? entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

I've always dreamed of being an entrepreneur. I think I have a lot of the qualities needed.

What I have been waiting for is an idea of the perfect business to start.

I have had a few ideas which I have thought about in more detail but become discouraged when I see the competition already in the market.

So should I just take the plunge and start selling any old crap on eBay / Amazon or would that just waste my time?

Also are there any resources or books you would recommend for idea generation? I guess I would be somewhat skeptical of coming up with an idea in this way, but at the same time my brain works in a pretty logical/problem solving way.

I am sick of saying 'I want to run my own business one day'.
