Need some serious advice on equity distribution entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey guys,

So i came up with an idea for a website and i ran it through a really really good friend who runs a business. Very smart guy, and very level headed and he loved the idea and we started generating some thoughts and got some money rounded up. We then got a developer but our capital was low so we offered to pay a low amount weekly, with the chance for equity later down the road given that we liked working with that person/they did a great job. Turns out our developer has been awesome and much more involved than my friend, but thats fine i knew that would probably be the case (he runs a business currently and has a wife and kids). My developer has truly done an amazing job and guided the technology and design part incredibly well and we've worked great together.

I honestly see both of them as co founders and i would consider my developer CTO at this point. I would like to continue working with him, he loves the idea and has put a lot of time into this and worked flawlessly with me.

I've talked to a few people about equity, and my best advice I've gotten was to take a lot of equity myself, and give them a low amount , with some incentives, but that would also give room for investors. I was thinking about taking 80% and giving them each 10%. One of my friends who is in the financial world suggested even giving them less equity for the grounds to still prove themselves, and also if things dont workout down the road, it would be a huge less of a headache for buyout clauses etc (dont think this will ever happen, but its something to consider)

What would you guys suggest a fair equity distribution right now? Developer has put in a lot of work, however we havent launched beta site yet. I do want to incorporate us very soon to get things in place legally such as our IP etc and i want to be fair to everyone but also do the right business move early on and not regret something down the road.
