Trying to get my company on google maps! Doesn't show up when searching :( Any tips? earn by blogging adsense income

Hi All,

Been tasked with getting my company showing up on google. I've created a business account and added our two locations on google. When you search for the company by name it comes up near the top on the main search and also on maps.

However when searching for similar businesses in our area it doesn't show at all in the search listings. What is the best way to ensure our company improves when searching for what we do on google?

Probably a question you've heard a thousand times already so apologies.
