Would a redirect from example.com to example.com/page be a good way to get around google's restriction on having Rich snippet review stars in search results show up on a homepage? earn by blogging adsense income

I've set out to get review stars to show up in google search results for a small local business website with only a few static pages. I added the option for customers to leave reviews in the sidebar, so reviews show up on every page. Every page now has its search results displaying the stars... except for the homepage, which is the one that brings in the most search traffic and would ideally be the one to get stars on its result.

But researching it a bit more, apparently homepages can't have review stars at all.

I was thinking then, would a proper 301 redirect to "http://ift.tt/2wlUU6c; be a good way to get around this restriction?

"In February, Google’s John Mueller announced that no PageRank is lost for 301 or 302 redirects from HTTP to HTTPS. This was largely seen as an effort by Google to increase webmaster adoption of HTTPS.

Most recently, Google's Gary Illyes cryptically announced on Twitter that 3xx (shorthand for all 300) redirects no longer lose PageRank at all."

So it sounds like redirecting wouldn't affect the existing ranking which is good. Though I'm a little weary of doing anything tricky like that because of stories of google's smart ass algorithm punishing sites that try to manipulate the system.

Is there a specific reason not to do this other than that?
