Selling a new beverage to dispensaries, need pricing advice. entrepreneur how earn by blogging blog

Hey guys, Ive finally created/discovered the beverage I'm going to be selling to dispensaries. It's a niche market, and since I'm located in Oregon we have over 200 dispensaries all over the state I can sell too.

First of all, this is a non thc drink so no extra testing or expensives related to that.

Background: I started making drinks in my kitchen but couldn't get it exactly right since I'm a complete novice in the kitchen. So I started looking at some companies for help and found one in Texas that will help me.

The greatest thing about this is that they will actually develop samples for me for FREE. This means they'll come up with the exact recipe. As long as I don't go crazy with revisions it'll stay free until it's exactly right. They also bottle and label the product and will ship it to me with a 2 year expiration date(that's what they expect) on the product.

If I can get a 16 oz bottle of my product for 1.50 or less (I'm hoping I can get it to a dollar per bottle) how much should I sell it to a dispensary for? I'd like to have the msrp around 3.49 per drink. What's the healthiest pricing model here?

My plan is just to walk into dispensaries and get the product on their shelves and slowly build out my own distribution line with more products from other companies down the road. But for the next year I'm only focusing on my drink.

Assuming each bottle costs me 1.50.

Sell to dispensary for 2.50 and allow me and the dispensary to make a dollar on each bottle sold? Or should I sell to dispensaries at a higher rate?

What do you guys think? Also if you own a dispensary please let me know how you'd like a new product to come into your stores, or give me ideas on how to please the owners so I can get the product on their dispensary.
