What's your method of reporting ROI to clients? earn by blogging adsense income

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to improve the way I demonstrate that my efforts in optimizting a website led to more conversions.

It's easy to generate a report from Google Analytics or Search Console and show an increase in KPI metrics, but what I really want is to draw a line between tasks I complete and improvements on a site.

For example, X tasks completed in month Y led to improvements Z, and then being able to clealry show this in an intuitive, easy-to-read report.

I wonder if this is too specific of a reporting goal? What have you guys found successful in showing clients that your efforts have a positive ROI?

I'm only using analytics and search console at the moment; I haven't used any specialized paid software to generate custom reports that may assist.
